When CIS approached Ridge Road to animate a traditional whiteboard explainer, we spotted a golden opportunity, asking ourselves how we could do a whiteboard piece more elegantly than the hand-drawn videos that propagate the internet today. The answer was simple—engage in the construction of beautiful line-based icons that could be used system-wide in print, web, and video. Then, we animated the lines to draw into the frame, one stroke at a time. While the effect is similar to other favorite whiteboarding videos, the result was elegant and sophisticated—just the way we like things.
